I have the honour to apply for the appointment of Assistant Postmaster General which becomes vacant on the 1st day of January next consequent on the promotion of Mr A. K. Travers.

I joined the service on the 12th of October 1869 and was promoted to Second Clerk on the 1st of June 1874, and to my present position on the 1st of January 1881. I have had experience in both correspondence...
